Nearby Places of Interest
Whether you are interested in history,
hiking or just relaxing in the beauty of the North Shore of Lake
Superior there are places nearby the Cross River Heritage Center for
you to visit. You will find spectacular views of rocky gorges,
cascading waterfalls and an abundance of wildlife. Area parks
and trails which are nearby are Tettegouche, Palisade, the Superior
Hiking Trail, Carlton Peak and Sugarloaf Cove. Across the
street from the Heritage Center you can view the Cross River and
Father Baraga’s Cross is a short hike away. If you continue
traveling North East from the Heritage Center you can learn about
the history of commercial fishing on the Northshore as you view the
exhibits at the North Shore Commercial Fishing Museum in Tofte.
